Our Firm
Who We Are
Built on Principles That Put You First
Principia Private Wealth exists for clients who want more than a transactional relationship with their financial advisor. We are a team of seasoned professionals who share a simple conviction: that genuine wealth management starts not with products, but with principles — your goals, your values, your definition of financial security.
The name is intentional. In classical Latin, principia referred to the first principles underlying any system of knowledge — the foundational truths that everything else depends on. We chose that word because before we recommend a single strategy or solution, we believe in understanding the principles that define your financial goals.
Operating through Thurston
Springer Financial, an Independent registered Broker-Dealer (Member FINRA & SIPC), and Thurston Springer Advisors, an SEC Registered Investment Advisor we have the freedom to draw from the full financial landscape without allegiance to any corporate agenda. That independence, combined with our decades of combined experience, is how we deliver the kind of thoughtful, conflict-free guidance that high-net-worth individuals and families deserve.
What Makes Us Different
What Sets Principia Apart
Comprehensive Planning
We look at your entire financial life—not just your portfolio. Our planning process integrates investment management, tax strategy, insurance, estate considerations, and retirement income into a unified plan built around your goals.
Open Architecture
As an independent firm, we are free to select investments and products from across the entire financial marketplace. We have no proprietary mandates and no inventory to move—just an obligation to find what works best for you.

Long-Term Commitment
We build relationships measured in decades, not quarters. Your strategy is designed to evolve with you—through career milestones, family changes, market cycles, and the eventual transfer of wealth to the people and causes you care about.
Personalized Service
You will always know your advisor by name—and they will know you, your family, and your financial picture in detail. We keep our client base intentionally focused so that every relationship receives the attention and responsiveness it deserves.
Meet the Team
You Are not a Client.
You’re Our Partner.
Richard W. Parker
Founder, CEO
Rick Parker is the CEO of Thurston Springer and founder of Principia Private Wealth, a leader whose entrepreneurial spirit traces back to a lawn care business he started at age twelve. A graduate of Indiana University in Bloomington with a finance degree, he built his sales instincts across retail, home building, and other ventures before entering financial services in 2007, working his way up at Thurston Springer to become COO in 2016 and CEO in 2018, and eventually bringing several practices together to form Principia Private Wealth. Rick holds his Series 7, 24, 63, 65, and 79 licenses, along with life and health and property and casualty licenses. In his advisory work, he sees himself as the quarterback of each client's financial affairs, tuning into their goals, fears, and family dynamics at every stage of their financial journey, and he pairs the frequency of contact to each client's needs, always available for a sit-down, a call, or a video session. Outside of work, Rick is a car enthusiast who loves to travel and treasures time with family and friends, and he considers Principia his life's work.

Gabriele P. Allen
Advisor, Team Manager
Gabriele Allen is an Advisor and Team Manager at Principia Private Wealth, bringing nearly four decades of experience since joining the firm in 1987 after working in banking in Monterey, California, and in the investment industry in Germany. She started in a hands-on processing role handling stock certificates and trading operations, and over the years grew alongside the firm through several mergers, earning her Series 7 license along with her Option Principal, General Securities Principal, and Municipal Principal designations. Gabriele holds a special passion for helping divorced women and widows navigate not just their finances but the emotional side of major life transitions, a focus she deepened by earning her Life Coach certification in October 2025. Clients often become close friends, a reflection of the trust she builds through regular annual reviews, thoughtful check-ins around tax time and year end, and her gift for truly listening. Outside of work, Gabriele has sung a cappella for thirty five years and loves to dance.
Dane P. Trainor
Relationship Manager
Dane Trainor is a Relationship Manager at Principia Private Wealth who brings both an analytical mind and a genuine love of people to his work. He studied accounting and international finance at Indiana University's Kelley School of Business, drawn to the field by a family legacy spanning two careers in financial services over the past sixty years, along with his own longstanding interest in securities research and the markets. Day to day, Dane helps clients navigate account structuring for tax efficiency and investment decisions tailored to their stage of life, whether they're just entering the workforce or approaching retirement; he holds his Series 7 and Series 66 licenses, along with life and variable annuity licenses, and is working toward his CFP. He enjoys speaking over the phone with clients to best serve their needs. Outside the office, Dane is an avid traveler, having explored South America and Europe, with Asia and Africa on the horizon, and he spent a formative semester abroad in Athens, Greece.
Jack P. Konrad
Client Service Associate
Jack Konrad is a Client Service Associate at Principia Private Wealth who found his path into finance through a high school economics class that first showed him the subject's real world impact. He was drawn to wealth management specifically for the chance to help people directly, rather than working toward a large corporation's bottom line, and Principia proved the right fit for that goal. Before joining the team, Jack interned at Bond Street Mortgage in Paramus, New Jersey, and at Blue Owl Capital in Short Hills, New Jersey. He's currently working toward his SIE, additional Series licenses, and his CFP as he builds toward becoming fully licensed. Jack is quick and responsive whenever clients or advisors need support. Outside of work, he enjoys bowling, golfing, playing guitar and bass, and watching sports.
